The Brégentenaz project creates a new public space linking Genolier station, the village centre and the site, based on an overarching strategy that integrates landscape, transport, water management and built development around two squares, the upper and lower squares.

The project enhances green corridors by extending the existing ash grove with native vegetation to strengthen the ecological corridor along the river. Three lime trees, planted at the heart of the site, echo the trees in the historic square and create a landscape link with the village centre. Orchards dot the public spaces, providing places to relax and extending the local plant heritage.

Stormwater management makes use of the natural topography, promoting infiltration at the edges of wooded areas. Water running off impervious surfaces, particularly the car park, is collected and then channelled into the sewerage system in accordance with technical specifications.

The public spaces are unified by mineral paving that extends that of the historic centre and structures the main pathways. Clay-limestone surfacing accompanies the meeting and relaxation areas, creating a more permeable and welcoming atmosphere.

The project comprises six phases that can be carried out independently, offering the local council considerable flexibility in phasing the works: the conversion of a historic building into two triplex flats; three residential buildings with ground-floor commercial premises (including the library); a new nursery; an underground car park with 100 spaces; an administrative building housing the CMS and the AISGE, with potential for extension; and the conversion and extension of the community hall to accommodate multi-purpose spaces and a youth centre.
