Located in the heart of Geneva, in the lively Coulouvrenière district, the Square du Stand is ideally situated on the banks of the Rhône between the Jonction and Plainpalais. The project deals with the theme of building in courtyards and the question of building the city within the city.
Density is thus the first act of sustainable development. The courtyard, which until now has been used for car parking, has been completely redesigned to accommodate 22 new homes that are lower than the buildings that line it. The new building is made up of four square volumes turned at 45°, welded together. This formal strategy means that there are no frontal views between the buildings.
